The Reason We Exist

Who we are

MIK Foundation Uganda was started in 2014 by Kamugasa Sophie Maria with an aim of bringing hope to marginalized children, orphans and the abandoned children in the region

Mission

Creating educational avenues and moral support to the orphans and vulnerable children so as to restore hope to those who have lost it.

Vision

Creating hope and happiness to the orphans and vulnerable communities in Bunyoro sub region for sustainable development.

Our Background

Sophie in her popular radio program “Ebbaruha” (your letter), was overwhelmed by the increased cases of child neglect, orphanage and single parenting in the region.

Our Objectives

  • To create educational avenues for the marginalized children in the region.
  • To enable communities create for themselves sustainable livelihood
  • Educate the community on issues of children's rights and protection so that they can realize their full rights and protection
  • To create awareness on issues of human rights, Gender consciousness and child protection.
  • Equip the youth with craftsmanship skills to help them create wealth in future.
  • To change the mindset of the community towards development
